In this 2D action game inspired by Konami’s Contra series, up to four players assume the roles of heroes who time travel to the past to prevent the invasion of the Stardust robot race. Players can choose between several character types to help them navigate through a university campus taken over by Stardust. Levels are filled with all sorts of Stardust enemies – some can fire projectiles or even explode when close to a hero. Experience the run-and-gun action alone or with friends, and use the snappy HotJoin system to join in on the fun at any time!
Time Bound was developed by a team of students in GMU’s Computer Game Design program. They utilized Unity’s 3D game engine to bring their vision to life. Michael’s responsibilities for the game included
- Level design/whiteboxing the game’s first level – a fitness center with a swimming pool, locker room, weight gallery, and cardio gallery
- Optimizing player experience in favor of verticality, variety, and comfort for both solo players and co-op play
- Reporting and fixing design-centric bugs and glitches
- Documenting required assets for level design, including 3D objects and textures
- Early player weapon prototypes
