Michael Martin is a game designer who is deeply invested in the structure, mechanics, plot, characters, and settings of video games. He is a graduate of George Mason University – Virginia’s largest public university – where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Computer Game Design. Through several years of study, he enjoyed hands-on experience with industry-leading game development tools such as Unreal Engine 5, Unity, and version control software like GitHub.
As a gameplay and narrative specialist, Michael believes that vibrant game worlds, endearing character-based stories, and a sense of simple fun are essential to the player’s experience. He is a punctual individual who adapts to change quickly, pays attention to detail, and sees his projects through to the end regardless of adversity.
Michael has contributed to several game development projects at George Mason University, designing gameplay and stories for 2D and 3D games with platforming, role-playing, and real-time action elements. He is familiar with the atmosphere and responsibilities as both a solo developer and a team member, collaborating with groups ranging from two people to over two dozen members.
